Transcription: Using a spatula, spread enough buttercream, meringue or other icing to completely cover the cake. Start with the sides of the cake and finish with the top. For buttercreams, use a warm spatula. For meringues, use a spatula which has been moistened with warm water. Swirl and smooth the cream over the sides of the cake with wide circular motions.
